Celebrating Women in Sports!
Yesterday was National Girl and Women in Sports Day, a perfect time to reflect on the positive impact sports can have on women. Growing up playing softball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball, I know firsthand how sports teach us valuable lessons and prepare us for life’s challenges. It’s something truly special to celebrate.
We need to continue encouraging little girls to dream big. We need coaches—especially female coaches—to keep inspiring and guiding the next generation. I firmly believe that strong women raise strong women, and the way women uplift one another is powerful. That being said, I was fortunate to have some incredible male coaches, too. But there’s something uniquely empowering about women supporting and empowering each other in sports.
So, let's celebrate these women and young girls. Let’s cheer them on as they try something new, as they step into the world of sports. Let’s support them when it gets tough. Let them learn from both their wins and losses. Play with grace. Play with passion. Women are capable of incredible things!
As for my daughter, I’m so grateful to watch her on this journey. Through the ups and downs, the challenges and triumphs, I love seeing the impact sports have on her. I’ll forever be thankful for the coaches who have made a lasting impact on her life, and I can't wait to see where her journey takes her next!
